Beast of Reincarnation Nue Malefact: Focus One and Let It Stagger the Other

The only later boss anyone has filmed with commentary, and it is a two-boss encounter. Focus one target, open with Koo rather than arrows, and expect to finish on abilities after the ammunition runs out.

§01

How well we know this fight

Where the evidence stands

One source, and it is the only recording anywhere of a later boss with a human talking over it — which is why this page exists despite being single-sourced. The name is the weakest part of it: across eight minutes the captions render the first word six different ways and none of them matches the creator’s own title, so the fight below is described without leaning on the name at all.

§02

Focus one; the other gets handled for you

The whole fight resolves around a single decision made at the start. Splitting attention across both targets is what makes this encounter feel unfair, and the mechanic below is the reason focusing works.

  • Focus one of the pair completely.CNo7C__2IYw 02:00
  • At roughly half health the focused boss retreats and siphons from its partner, which fully staggers the partner for you. It happens twice.CNo7C__2IYw 03:30 and 05:00–05:30
  • Watch the boss you are not fighting. It throws lightning bursts while your attention is elsewhere.CNo7C__2IYw 03:00
§03

Stagger before you shoot, and expect to run out

The ranged opening most players reach for does not work here in the order they will try it, and the ammunition economy decides the back half of the fight.

  • It blocks arrows while it is ready, so Koo’s abilities go in before the shots do.CNo7C__2IYw 02:00
  • Arrows and bolts run out. Plan to finish the fight on Koo’s abilities alone.CNo7C__2IYw 04:00–04:30
  • Spend on the cheap abilities. Several cost five points — the whole bar in one go — while the one- and two-point abilities can be chained.CNo7C__2IYw 07:00–07:30
§04

Parrying is the sustain loop, not just the defence

Do not push. Letting them come to you and parrying is how Koo gets refilled, and Koo is how Emma gets healed — which means taking the occasional hit is affordable in a way it is not in most of this genre.

  • Let them come to you and parry. That is also how Koo refills.CNo7C__2IYw 02:00–02:30
  • Using Koo’s abilities regenerates Emma’s health.CNo7C__2IYw 03:00
  • A yellow bar under the focused boss’s health fills toward a full stagger. That is the finishing window.CNo7C__2IYw 05:30–06:00
  • Red flashing attacks cannot be blocked. Dodge them.CNo7C__2IYw 06:30
§05

One label on this page is contested

The ability costs above are given in points rather than in a named resource, and that is deliberate. This creator counts them in "mana points" throughout; the combat guide cited elsewhere on this site calls the same gauge FP. One of the two is wrong and we do not know which, so the number is published and the noun is not.

Shidou & Nue — questions players actually ask

Focus one of the two completely. At about half health it retreats and siphons from its partner, fully staggering the partner for you. Stagger with Koo before shooting, because it blocks arrows while ready, and expect to finish on abilities once the ammunition runs out.
