Thunderwave lightning — BltzZ’s element build
The first build here arranged around an element rather than around getting Emma airborne: a sword whose every swing calls lightning, a Koo mod that triggers it without a parry, and a skill tree pointed at status build-up.
Whose build this is

What it does
The premise
The Thunderwave Sword’s special effect makes every slash call lightning down on a nearby enemy, and it normally has to be earned with a parry. The whole build is an answer to that condition: a mod on one of Koo’s arts fires Emma’s blade effect on command, so the effect can open a fight instead of waiting for one. Everything else — the stones, the charm, Koo’s two lightning arts, the status branch — exists to keep shock stacking on everything in range. It is the first build on this site that fights at ground level by design, which matters because both of the others are arranged around getting Emma airborne and Skill Up says that is the wrong place to be against a boss.
The loop
- Pick up the Thunderwave Sword — story-issued around chapter 3 by the creator’s recollection, so it cannot be missed (00:00).
- Open with Sakura Javelin. The mod on it fires Emma’s blade effect without a parry, so the lightning is live from the first input (04:30–05:00).
- Swing. Each slash calls lightning onto a nearby enemy, and the effect runs about five seconds before it needs refreshing (00:00–00:30).
- Let Koo stack the same status from his own arts, so build-up comes from two sources at once (02:43–03:30).
- Refresh the effect with Javelin rather than waiting for a parry, then repeat — he puts the sword’s lightning build-up at +6 with the node maxed (00:00).
Skills
Skill slots, and what is deliberately left out
- Thunderwave Sword00:00
Every slash calls lightning down on a nearby enemy while the effect is up, normally triggered by parrying. Build-up is stated as +6 with the node maxed and the effect as about five seconds. The spelling is the creator’s own, typed into his chapter marker rather than read off captions, and it matches the catalogue record.
- Entanglement Stone00:30
Opens combat with the entanglement gauge at +3 and Koo’s FP at +3. He calls it essential and says he does not see it coming off anybody’s build — a first-strike stone rather than a scaling one.
- Entangled Conquest01:00
Restores gauge and Koo’s FP on any kill. The captions render the gauge figure as "6"; the catalogue record has the tiers at 0.3/0.6/1, so what he is describing is a level-two stone and the caption has lost a decimal point. Cited here as the tiered record rather than the caption number.
- Entangled Combo01:00
A late-game stone: reach a fifteen-hit arrow combo and the gauge refills and Koo gains an FP. He is explicit that the Koo FP is the part he cares about and that any stone raising it is an acceptable substitute.
- Final Infusion01:30
Executions return FP and gauge. He is filmed picking up a higher-tier one at 09:30 and reading its text aloud, which is the rare case of a stone’s effect being confirmed on camera rather than described from memory.
- Onslaught01:30
Bonus damage on entering a fight encounter. He is running a level three. This is the third build on the site to name it, which is what lifted the spelling out of caption territory.
- Dance Attire01:54
Chosen for six slots, decent defence and Low awareness — he explicitly wants the stealth grade for assassinations and executions, not just the slot count. The catalogue record has it at Defense 39 with the same six slots and Low awareness.
- Amber Breastplate02:00
Named and then argued against for this build: more defence, but the awareness grade means enemies see you constantly. His stated exception is fighting something with acid attacks.
- Floral Wraps02:30
Offered as the long-serving budget option before six-slot armour appears, on the same Low awareness grade. The captions render it "floor wraps"; the catalogue record spells it Floral Wraps and the Dance Attire record describes the two as the same shape eight defence apart.
- Sakura Javelin, with the mod that fires Emma’s blade effect?04:00
The keystone, and the one entry here that rests entirely on captions. Koo throws a lightning javelin and the mod on it triggers Emma’s sword effect, which is what removes the parry requirement — he demonstrates it at 05:00, swinging with no lightning, using Javelin, then swinging with lightning. Neither the art nor the mod appears in a chapter marker or on screen in readable text, and the mod name reaches us as "Battlebor". Both spellings are held as caption output.
- Javelin FP cost reduction05:30
A node on the left of Koo’s Javelin branch that takes one FP off the cost, which matters because the mod raises the modded cost to four. He puts the node at 50 skill points.
- Mod: Status Effect Amp, placed on Roots06:00
Roots pins an enemy, the mod debuffs it, and hits landed while it is pinned stack ailments faster. The captions say "status effect amplify"; the client-read mod list on the Incantation record spells it Status Effect Amp, which is the spelling used here.
- Mod: Shocking Vigor06:30
More damage against enemies already shocked, which is the state this build is trying to hold everything in. Named as optional and dependent on which art it is slotted onto. Also a client-confirmed spelling off the Incantation mod list.
- Helm Splitter06:30
Named again, and again without qualification — "going to help out in all of her weapon builds". Third independent creator on this site to say so, and the second BltzZ video to spell it.
- Instant entanglement07:00
Kept from his earlier ranged build and stacked with the stones that refill the gauge on their own. He does not restate the 35% figure here.
- Extend blade effect07:00
Raises the five-second blade effect by 80% when maxed, per this video. That is the node that decides how often the Javelin refresh is needed, so it is load-bearing rather than incidental.
Execution
The parts that are technique, not gear
Copying the skill order gets you none of this. These are the patterns the creator demonstrates on camera.
Trigger the blade effect instead of earning it 04:30–05:00
The sword wants a parry. The Javelin mod supplies the trigger on demand, so the opener is Javelin then swing rather than bait, parry, swing. He films the difference at 05:00 — one swing with no lightning, Javelin, then the same swing zapping everything nearby.
Two lightning sources, not one 02:43–03:30
Koo is not a support slot in this build. A level-three skill charm makes his normal attack a triple lightning strike, Shocking Fang gives him an electric art on a five-second cooldown, and Bolt Shards adds build-up. He is stacking the same status Emma is, from a position Emma is not in.
Status build-up has tiers, and the tier is the point 03:30–04:00
He describes the circle under an enemy health bar escalating through a level two and a level three version as build-up continues, and says he does not know whether a level four exists. The whole loadout is arranged to push that counter rather than to spike single hits.
Honest limits
What this build is bad at
A build page without this section is an advertisement.
- He states outright that the Thunderwave Sword is "slightly weaker" than Fall Thunder and prefers it anyway. Thunderwave is the AoE option; Fall Thunder is the single-target one, and he names bosses as where the single-target sword belongs (07:30).
- The skill charm doing the heaviest lifting — a level three for Koo with a triple lightning strike and a 20% boost — is a luck drop. He says so plainly rather than presenting the build as reproducible on demand (02:30).
- Several stones are late-game. He puts the earliest point for starting the build at chapter 3 and says the rest is accumulated on the way (11:30).
- The Javelin mod raises the art’s cost to four FP, which is why the cost-reduction node is in the list rather than optional (05:30).
- Both of the other builds on this site are arranged around getting Emma airborne and Skill Up says that is the wrong place to be against a boss — see the disagreements below. This build does not put her there, which makes it the one loadout here that dispute does not reach. That is an observation about coverage, not a claim that this build is better.
