Where to Find the Red Key in Beast of Reincarnation
The Red Key is a Chapter 1 story key in Subcity 03. The Retired Gatekeeper Golem gives it to you after the first Rangifer fight; use it for the main gate and the Abandoned Village detour.
Go to Subcity 03 during Chapter 1’s “Toward the Nushi’s Lair” route, after the first Rangifer fight. A Retired Gatekeeper Golem gives you the Red Key during the story path.
Where this is being asked · Guide coverage from Rock Paper Shotgun and IGN’s Chapter 1 walkthrough both call out the Red Key because players can see a Red Key door in the Abandoned Village before the main story hands them the key.
Evidence
The answer, broken into claims
A grade describes sourcing, not truth. Inferred means we concluded it and the reasoning is shown; unverified means someone asserted it and nobody stands behind it.
CorroboratedThe Red Key is obtained in Subcity 03 during Chapter 1 after the first Rangifer fight.
Rock Paper Shotgun and IGN walkthroughs, read 2026-08-06.
CorroboratedThe Abandoned Village Red Key door leads to a strongbox with amber and an Ancient Book (Common).
Both sources name the detour reward type; only RPS gives an exact amber count, so no number is published here.
§01
When the Red Key becomes available
Both sources place the Red Key in the Chapter 1 route toward the Nushi’s lair, after the first Rangifer fight opens the path toward Subcity 03. You do not need to brute-force the locked Abandoned Village door earlier; the main quest sends you to the key later.
§02
Where to pick it up
Enter Subcity 03 and follow the story path to the locked gate. Rock Paper Shotgun names the NPC as the Retired Gatekeeper Golem and says the Red Key is handed over automatically after a short conversation. IGN’s walkthrough describes the same gate beat as the nearby golem giving you the red key while explaining that the gate also needs blue and yellow keys.
§03
What to do with it before moving on
After the story gate accepts the coloured keys, return to the Abandoned Village if you want the optional pickup. Both sources say the Red Key opens a locked door there that leads to a strongbox containing amber and an Ancient Book (Common). Rock Paper Shotgun gives an exact amber count, but IGN’s visible text only corroborates the item types, so this page does not publish the number.
Expiry condition
What would have to change for this answer to be wrong
An answer about a live-service game without this is an answer with a hidden expiry date.
A patch moves the Chapter 1 key route or a first-party walkthrough names a different NPC, door or reward. Current evidence is two written launch-week walkthroughs, not a direct game-client capture from this site.
