Beast of Reincarnation Entanglement: The Gauge, and What Fills It

Overdrive runs 1.52 seconds per point of gauge and gates behind Strength 9 — both read off the client. Eight Spirit Stones put the gauge back, and every one of those numbers is a wiki’s rather than the game’s.

Two kinds of claim share this page. Everything about the branch was read off the game’s own tooltips in a capture we hold; everything about the eight refill stones is Fextralife’s table, transcribed. The panel badges every line so the two never blur, and no figure below has been averaged between them.

§01

It is a branch, not a node, and that is the decision

Almost every guide covering this game tells you to prioritise Entanglement Overdrive. What the client shows, and what none of them says, is that it is one of Emma’s three branch roots — Tracking Shot, Hair, and this — so taking that advice commits roughly a third of her tree rather than eight points. It gates on Strength 9, not on the Florescence the colour scheme in circulation would lead you to expect. And Iaido, which several routes treat as a natural companion pick, is not adjacent to it but inside it: the attribute panel states outright that Iaido can be acquired at Entanglement Overdrive Lv. 2. The two published routes disagree about whether to do any of this — one works up the tree toward the gauge, the other works down it toward Helm Splitter on a different branch — and neither has tested the other’s order.

§02

What the gauge is, and the eight ways to put it back

Overdrive slows time and drains the gauge while it runs, at a rate the tooltip states exactly: 1.52 seconds per point, rising to 1.6 with the first enhancement. That is the only duration figure on this site quoted from the game’s own text rather than from someone reading a screen aloud, and it is also the only one — no source publishes a damage number for the state itself. The gauge is spent by Blade Arts too, so the same meter pays for the burst and for the big single hits. Filling it back is where the evidence gets thinner: eight Spirit Stones restore gauge, their triggers are not interchangeable, and every number attached to them is a competitor wiki’s.

What the gauge is

Read off the clientActivate with LS + RS. Overdrive lasts 1.52 seconds per point of Entanglement Gauge, and the first enhancement raises that to 1.6.

The node’s own tooltip, in a client frame at 03:20 of LaserBolt’s skill-tree capture.

Read off the clientIt gates behind Strength 9 — not Florescence, which the colour scheme in circulation would predict.

The same tooltip’s Required Attributes line, showing Strength 9 against a current 8.

Read off the clientEntanglement Overdrive is one of Emma’s three branch roots, alongside Tracking Shot and Hair — so choosing it commits roughly a third of her tree.

Read off the clientIaido is not a free pickup beside it: the attribute panel states "Iaido can be acquired at Entanglement Overdrive Lv.2".

Creator, from playThe gauge starts at two bars and can be raised to seven.

BltzZ at 01:30, and he hedges it himself — "by default, I think it's at two bars". No frame we hold shows the maximum, so it stays a creator claim.

Creator, from playBlade Arts such as Shakuyaku are spent out of this gauge, so the same meter pays for both the burst state and the big single hits.

Eight ways to put it back

Every number below is Fextralife’s, transcribed — none has been read off the client, and the tier counts differ between stones in a way nobody has explained. Filter by what has to happen for the stone to fire; the yields are only comparable inside a class.

Entangled ConquestOn a kill

Defeating an enemy in combat restores Emma's Entanglement Gauge by 0.3/0.6/1 and Koo's FP by 1.

Also carries max skill power: 9 at rank 3.

The unconditional one. Identical numbers to Entangled Assassination with none of its conditions, which on the published information makes it strictly better — unless the two stack, which nobody has tested.

Entangled AssassinationOn a kill

Defeating an enemy with Death from Above or Assassination restores Emma's Entanglement Gauge by 0.3/0.6/1 and Koo's FP by 1.

Also carries max hp: 39 at rank 3.

Same values as Conquest above it, behind a narrower trigger. Only worth a slot if it stacks.

Entangled DodgeOn a defensive read

Perfect Dodges have a 10%/20%/30%/40%/50% chance to restore Emma's Entanglement Gauge by 0.2 and Koo's FP by 1.

Also carries max critical rate: 10% at rank 3.

Entangled ParryOn a defensive read

Parrying has a 10%/20%/30%/40%/50% chance to restore Emma's Entanglement Gauge by 0.2 and Koo's FP by 1.

Also carries max critical rate: 10% at rank 3.

Entangled RiposteOn a defensive read

Ripostes have a 10%/20%/30%/40%/50% chance to restore Emma's Entanglement Gauge by 0.2 and Koo's FP by 1.

Also carries max attack: 6 at rank 3.

The three defensive stones publish identical odds and identical returns. If that is right, the choice between them is purely which defensive button you actually press.

Entangled ComboOn offence

Reaching a combo of 16/15/14/12/10 restores Emma's Entanglement Gauge by 0.2 and Koo's FP by 1.

Also carries max attack: 10 at rank 3.

Its tiers run the other way — the requirement falls from 16 down to 10 as the rank rises, rather than the reward climbing.

Entanglement IncreaseOn offence

Exploiting an elemental weakness has a 3%/4%/5%/6%/7% chance to restore Emma's Entanglement Gauge by 0.2 and Koo's FP by 1.

Also carries max hp: 65 at rank 3.

The worst odds on the list by a wide margin — 3% to 7% against the 10% to 50% the defensive family publishes, for the same 0.2 back.

Entanglement StoneBefore the fight

Combat begins with Emma's Entanglement Gauge at 1/2/3 and Koo's DP at 1/2/3.

Also carries max hp: 33 at rank 3.

The only one that is not a chance at all. You open the fight with gauge already banked, which is what makes an opening burst possible instead of something you build toward.

One figure that reconciles with nothing

A kill has a chance to refill the whole gauge, and that chance can be raised to 35%.

BltzZ at 04:00.

Nothing published carries 35%. The two kill stones restore a flat amount rather than rolling for it, and no stone in the table steps to 35 at any rank. Most likely a skill-tree node rather than a stone — which would mean the tree has a refill route this page cannot yet describe.

§03

What the eight actually tell you, if the numbers are right

Read as published, three things fall out. The kill stones return up to a full point where every chance-based stone returns 0.2, so a build that kills often is refilling roughly five times faster per trigger than one that parries well. Entangled Conquest and Entangled Assassination publish identical values behind different triggers, and Conquest’s trigger is a superset of Assassination’s — which makes Assassination pointless unless the two stack, and nobody has tested whether they do. And Entanglement Increase publishes 3% to 7% where the defensive family publishes 10% to 50%, for the same return, which is a gap too large to be a rounding difference and worth treating as suspect rather than as a design decision.

  • All three of those readings depend on a table nobody has checked against the client. If one row is transcribed wrong, the conclusion built on it is wrong too, and that is the reason they are written as “if the numbers are right”.
  • Tier counts differ between stones — some step three times, some five — and ranks run 1 to 3. No source explains how a five-step effect maps onto a three-rank stone.
§04

One creator figure that reconciles with nothing

BltzZ describes an “instant entanglement” that fires when you defeat an enemy and can refill the entire gauge, and says the chance can be raised to 35%. Nothing published carries 35%. The defensive stones step 10, 20, 30, 40, 50; Entanglement Increase steps 3 to 7; and the two kill stones restore a flat amount rather than rolling at all. The likeliest explanation is that he is describing a skill-tree node rather than a Spirit Stone — which would mean the tree holds a refill route this page cannot yet describe, and that is a gap worth naming rather than papering over. His other figure in the same segment does check out: he says entanglement stones open a fight at +3 gauge, and Entanglement Stone’s top tier reads 3.

§05

What is not established, including one way it breaks

No damage figure exists for Overdrive itself, from any source. The maximum number of bars is a creator’s hedged recollection rather than a read — “by default, I think it’s at two bars” — and no frame we hold shows the ceiling. Whether the two kill stones stack is untested. And the state has at least one known failure: activating Overdrive inside one arena has been reported to soft-lock the encounter, which is tracked separately on this site rather than mentioned in passing here.

§06

The two icons above the gauge, which nobody has settled

A player asked what the boxy icon and the sword icon sitting above the Entanglement bar actually mean, and reported — accurately — that there is nothing about them in the in-game database and nothing on Google. Four people answered and gave three different explanations, every one of them hedged. That is the whole published state of this question, and it is reproduced rather than resolved because resolving it would mean picking one stranger over another. What the asker established first-hand, by watching the counter, is worth more than any of the answers: the boxy icon increments by one each time a Koo Bloom Art is used since the last Entanglement trigger — by two during some second phases — and it also appears on ordinary field enemies, which is what makes the "it counts your Bloom Arts" reading incomplete. The sword icon resets on leaving the combat area.

  • “Stones you have equipped” — the most upvoted answer, and the one the asker accepted for the sword icon.
  • “It is the armour buff you get whenever Koo uses a skill. It is the main green/vitality skill for Koo.” — a different answer for the boxy one.
  • “At max vitality (5) for Koo, u can get up to 5 stacks of them.” — a ceiling, from a third player, attached to the vitality reading.
  • “Fortitude and Vigor I think” — a fourth answer, hedged by its author.
  • What would settle it: one frame of the tooltip. Every claim above is somebody’s inference from watching a number move.

Beast of Reincarnation Entanglement: The Gauge, and What Fills It FAQ

Eight Spirit Stones restore it — on a kill, on a perfect dodge, parry or riposte, on a long combo, on an elemental weakness hit, or by opening the fight with gauge already banked. The kill stones return up to a full point; the chance-based ones return 0.2. Every one of those figures is Fextralife’s and none has been read off the client.

It also carries the only first-hand observations anyone has published: the boxy icon increments per Koo Bloom Art since the last Entanglement trigger and also appears on ordinary field enemies, and the sword icon resets on leaving the combat area.
