Some names on this page come from creator guides recorded in the launch week and are still being checked against the in-game text — where a name is uncertain we flag it inline instead of stating it as fact.

§01

His tree is shaped differently from Emma’s

Koo gets one level per skill below his core skills rather than many, so his choices are wider and shallower. More importantly, his branches do two different jobs — and mixing them up is the most common way to waste points.

What to level first

The order below is the survivability-first reading. It is not the only route published — see the disagreement below — but it is the one that makes the early game cheapest.

  • Guard and Pounce at rank 1. They are the defensive floor, and they gate his better upgrades.
  • Guard to rank 5, which applies Fortitude and Armor to Emma after a Bloom Art. The single biggest early survivability jump.
  • Taunt. Koo howls and pulls nearby enemies off you — the answer to most crowd encounters.
  • Healing Bouquet, for sustain that makes exploration and boss attempts cheaper.
§03

Equipped support runs itself

Recovery and support skills, once equipped, fire automatically — Koo heals Emma and clears her status ailments without a command. That makes the right-hand branch quietly one of the strongest investments in the game, because it works while your attention is on the parry timing.

§04

Named Bloom Arts seen so far

Guard, Pounce, Taunt, Snatch, Healing Bouquet, and a Higanbana art. These come from creator footage rather than the game client, so a name here may be a caption error until it is confirmed — Bloom Arts is itself frequently transcribed as "Blue Arts".

Beast of Reincarnation Koo: What the Dog Does FAQ

Koo. His survivability skills make the early game noticeably cheaper, and several gate his stronger upgrades.
