No official changelog exists for this build. What follows is what is known and, separately, what is not — never a reconstruction of the second from the first.

Announced, not shippedNo official notesAnnounced 5 August 2026, targeted "within a week"

Announced, itemised and unshipped. It is the only build of this game whose contents are public in advance, and the developer has attached its own caveat that they may change.

§01

What is in it

GAME FREAK’s own post on X, itemised by the developer rather than reconstructed. This is the only list on this route that comes from the people who wrote the patch.

The developer states these contents are subject to change. This is a list of intentions with a date attached, not a shipped fix, and no item on it has been verified in a build by anyone.

§02

What is known

GAME FREAK posted the five items below to its official account on X, in Japanese, on 5 August 2026, framing them as the first of "a series of continuous updates" and targeting release within a week. Two independent English reports of the post agree on every item and on the caveat, and a pinned Steam Community thread now carries the same English text plus publisher comments that the patch is being finalised around PC-specific issues before later cross-platform fixes.

What is not known

The version number, the exact date, the platform order and whether anything beyond these five items is in it. The developer states the contents are subject to change. Nothing about this patch has ever appeared on the official Steam news feed, which as of the 8 August sync still holds eight announcements with 5 August as the newest.

  • GAME FREAK official account on X — first post-launch patch statementOfficial, posted 2026-08-05 in Japanese. The developer says it is taking feedback to heart and plans continuous updates, and lists the next patch — targeted within a week — as camera adjustments, larger text, story pacing improvements (with further adjustment planned), a default graphics setting changed from Cinematic to Performance, and other bug fixes, all "subject to change". Read here through two independent English reports rather than translated by us; X serves nothing useful to automated fetching.
  • Steam Community — Message from Game Freak [08/04/2026]Official pinned Steam Community thread, read 2026-08-06 — Sam reposts GAME FREAK's 5 August X statement in Japanese and English, adds that the first patch is being finalised for PC-specific issues, says later patches will include cross-platform fixes, and replies that ultrawide fixes are planned, the DLSS-to-FSR reset is being fixed, Radeon crash bugs are being investigated, and UI text rendering problems will be investigated. No build number or shipped fix is attached.
  • Noisy Pixel — Game Freak's post-launch update roadmapPress, 2026-08-05 — reports the GAME FREAK X statement in English and lists all five items: camera adjustments, increased text size, story pacing improvements with ongoing adjustment planned, changing the default setting from Cinematic to Performance mode, and other bug fixes. Carries the developer's own caveat that "the contents of this patch are subject to change" and notes the feedback route at support.fictions.com.
  • Game Informer — Game Freak planning a series of continuous updatesPress, 2026-08-05 — an independent second English read of the same X post, quoting "We take your feedback to heart and are planning a series of continuous updates" and listing the identical five items, the one-week target and the same subject-to-change caveat. Cited alongside Noisy Pixel so no single outlet's translation stands alone.

The other builds

1.0.6PC (Steam)

The version the launch client reports on PC. It is the build the game shipped as, named in the developer’s own launch announcement — not a day-one download, and it has no patch notes because it is not a patch.

1.004PlayStation 5

A day-one update reported on PlayStation 5 and described as a performance and stability pass. It is single-sourced, no official notes accompany it, and it is not the PC 1.0.6 under a different name.
