Beast of Reincarnation v1.0.8 Patch Notes: Is the Second Patch Out?

Yes. Beast of Reincarnation v1.0.8 shipped on 15 August 2026 with twenty-four official changes — camera distance presets, subtitle sizes, DLSS 4/4.5 and FSR 4, boss and Bloom Art changes, and a shorter Pilgrim’s Zone route. Ultrawide support is next, in final testing.

Short answer

Yes, twice. v1.0.7 shipped on 9 August 2026 and v1.0.8 on 15 August, and the second is the bigger one: twenty-four items including DLSS 4/4.5 (L/M) and FSR 4 on PC, camera distance presets, five subtitle sizes, stronger Bloom Arts and a shortened main route in the Pilgrim’s Zone. Your client should read 1.0.8.0 on Steam and Xbox Series, or 1.006.000 on PS5. Ultrawide monitor support is the next named thing and the publisher says it is in final testing.

Where this is being asked · Behind every display and performance complaint on the Steam board, and directly in threads asking whether the promised patch had shipped. The answer has now changed twice — on 9 August when v1.0.7 posted, and on 15 August when v1.0.8 replaced it.

Evidence

The answer, broken into claims

A grade describes sourcing, not truth. Inferred means we concluded it and the reasoning is shown; unverified means someone asserted it and nobody stands behind it.

  • OfficialThe second post-launch patch shipped as v1.0.8 on 15 August 2026, with 1.006.000 as its PS5 number.

Official Steam announcement “Beast of Reincarnation PC Patch Notes: v1.0.8”, and the support-centre article headed “Patch Notes: v1.0.8 / v1.006.000”.

  • OfficialDLSS 4/4.5 (L/M) and FSR 4 support shipped in v1.0.8, on PC.

Official v1.0.8 notes, where the item carries the publisher’s own “(PC)” tag.

  • OfficialUltrawide monitor support is in the final stages of testing and has not shipped.

The v1.0.8 notes’ closing list, which describes it that way and apologises for the wait.

  • OfficialFrame generation has not shipped and is named for a later patch.

The v1.0.8 notes list it separately from the DLSS/FSR item that did ship.

  • OfficialThe two first-party documents for v1.0.8 differ by one item.

The Steam announcement lists twenty-three changes; the support-centre article lists twenty-four, adding Brad’s arrival dialogue. Both read 2026-08-18.

  • OfficialThe current build is 1.0.8.0 on Steam and Xbox Series and 1.006.000 on PS5.

    The publisher’s per-platform version article, read 18 August 2026.

  • InferredNo release date or build number exists for the next patch after v1.0.8.

The 15 August notes name twelve future items and attach no date or version number to any of them.

§01

What shipped in v1.0.8, 15 August 2026

Twenty-four items in the publisher’s support-centre article. These are the ones a reader is most likely to be searching for; the full list, filterable, is on the patch notes page.

  • DLSS 4/4.5 (L/M) and FSR 4 support, tagged PC-only — the item the previous notes had deferred.
  • Player camera distance options: Close, Medium and Far, plus further camera adjustments.
  • Subtitle size options: Extra Small through Extra Large.
  • Lock-on defaults changed to OFF for Auto-Target on attack, parry and switch, for players who had not set them.
  • Emma no longer takes damage from falling or from being partially submerged in water.
  • Increased Bloom Art damage and HP recovery, and adjusted combat behaviour for some bosses.
  • A shorter Pilgrim’s Zone main route — straight to the Belfry, skipping the Cave and the Stone Chamber.
  • Fewer consecutive cutscenes between areas, and Brad’s arrival dialogue is now played manually.
§02

The two official documents do not match

The Steam announcement carries twenty-three items. The publisher’s support-centre article, in English and Japanese under one id, carries twenty-four — it adds the line about Brad’s arrival dialogue becoming manual. Almost every site reprinting this patch is reprinting the Steam post, so twenty-three is the number in circulation. Both are first-party; the support centre is the fuller one, and that is now true for two cycles running.

§03

What is named for later, and the one item with any timing

The v1.0.8 notes close with twelve items for subsequent patches. Only the first of these carries anything resembling a schedule, and none of them carries a date:

  • Ultrawide monitor support — “in the final stages of testing”, to be released soon.
  • Skippable events and cutscenes — harder than expected, possibly delivered in stages, with an apology.
  • Frame generation.
  • Healing items usable immediately on damage, and a shorter slowdown while healing.
  • Boss camera adjustments, water submersion detection, invisible walls, cutscene presentation, Koo blocking the view, and landing positions shifting on a leap.
§04

What this page got wrong, twice

On 5 August it said no date and no scope had been published, hours after the announcement said otherwise. Then it listed ultrawide monitor support and frame generation as items the v1.0.7 notes named for later patches — they were not in those notes at all, in either language; the source was a developer’s forum reply on 3 August. Both items are in the v1.0.8 notes now, so the sentence reads correctly today and was wrong when it was written. That is worth stating plainly: a claim that becomes true later was still unsourced when it was published.

§05

The number to watch

Steam and Xbox Series report 1.0.8.0; PS5 reports 1.006.000, and the publisher’s update-check article writes the same build as 01.006.000. A Steam client on 1.0.7.0 has the first patch and not the second; 1.0.6 is the launch build. On PS5, 1.005.000 is the first patch and 1.004 is the day-one build.

Expiry condition

What would have to change for this answer to be wrong

An answer about a live-service game without this is an answer with a hidden expiry date.

A third patch ships, or ultrawide support lands — the publisher says it is in final testing, so that is the next thing likely to move. It would appear as another Steam announcement, a new support-centre article, or a client build number newer than 1.0.8.0 / 1.006.000.

Citations

Every source, with its date

A complaint posted before 30 July 2026 describes the playtest, not the game you bought, and a source whose publication date nobody captured cannot show that it postdates launch either. Both are flagged rather than quietly mixed in.

  • That PC v1.0.8 shipped on 15 August 2026 with twenty-three listed changes, including DLSS 4/4.5 (L/M) and FSR 4, camera distance options and subtitle sizes, and that its closing list of twelve future items names ultrawide monitor support as in final testing and frame generation as planned.

  • The same patch filed under both a PC and a PlayStation version string, with twenty-four items — one more than the Steam post, the extra being Brad’s arrival dialogue becoming manual. Read 2026-08-18 in a browser; the host 403s automated fetching.

  • That the current build is Xbox Series 1.0.8.0, PS5 1.006.000 and Steam 1.0.8.0. The article is edited in place with no history, so this is a reading dated 18 August rather than a publisher timestamp.

  • That PC v1.0.7 shipped on 9 August 2026 with fourteen changes, and that its closing future list has three entries — DLSS/FSR work, further story pacing, and “and much more” — naming neither ultrawide nor frame generation.

  • The announcement itself: a series of continuous updates, and a next patch targeted within a week carrying five named items, all of them subject to change. Posted in Japanese; read through two independent English reports rather than translated by us, because X serves nothing useful to automated fetching.

  • That Sam [developer] reposted the statement to Steam on 5 August at 9:16am and added that the first patch is being finalised around PC-specific issues, with later patches carrying fixes that miss it. Read 2026-08-06.

  • That Sam [developer], 3 August at 7:04pm, named ultrawide support and frame generation as targeted for fixes, with no date and no scope attached. This was the only statement naming either until the v1.0.8 notes twelve days later.

  • That the publisher’s news feed carries PC patch notes for v1.0.8 above the v1.0.7 notes, the 5 August entitlement fix and the 3 August availability announcement.
